Engineer
Under general direction of a supervisor or fire officer, the purpose of this position is to respond to incidents, perform basic preventative maintenance on apparatus, equipment, facilities and other city items. Take part in prevention and public education activities. May serve in a leadership capacity in the absence of the fire officer, as well as perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Texas Commission on Fire Protection – Basic Certificate (Intermediate preferred)

Texas Department of State Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic

Texas Commission on Fire Protection Driver Operator*
*within six months of hire date

Ability to affectively interact with all levels of co-workers, management staff, citizens and the public.

Pass General Aptitude Test

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
