FIRE FIGHTER
Job Summary: Under general direction of a supervisor or fire officer, the purpose of this position is to respond to incidents, perform basic preventative maintenance on apparatus, equipment, facilities and other city items. Take part in prevention and public education activities.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
-
Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Certification (Intermediate preferred)
-
Texas Department of State Health Services EMT Basic* (Paramedic preferred)
-
*EMT Paramedic within one year of hire date

Pass General Aptitude Test
-
Ability to affectively interact with all levels of co-workers, management staff, citizens and the public.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
